Connie's 100th, 12-11-10

Robyn's mother, Connie Lingle Keate was born on this day 100 years ago! This was Connie in the 1950s.
Here she is with Robyn's dad in St. George in the 1980s.And here she is with Jared in the backyard at grandma's house.

Farewell, Old Friend

We've been through a lot in nearly 8 years...including a tree.
Been through snow!
While I am so sad at selling my old friend, the new owner certainly isn't showing any sympathy!

Posse Fest!

The Posse rolled through today to help with preparations for Ward Prayer tomorrow. They decorated these cookies. Very talented girls!
Then they did self portraits for Halloween!

The Posse!

We love when The Posse comes to visit. They are so cool. They aren't very patient, but very cool. If they had been more patient, they would now have warm cinnamon streusel muffins instead of cold banana bread. Live and learn, my dear Posse.

Facebook Me!

The husband of a teacher at Robyn's school is in the radio biz. He gets passes to sneak previews of upcoming movies. Tonight we scored the tickets for The Social Network. We even got a shirt.
The highlight of the movie was seeing our good friend, Pam Roylance, as the Ad Board Chairwoman!

Nephew Time

That's Sumner rambling down field. Playing varsity football this year.
Look at that tiger go!
He could go all the way! Scored his first varsity touchdown last week. Can't wait to travel to see him play.

CSS

The Colored Shirt Sunday started strongly enough with a visit to the ward by Bryce Randle!
These are just a few that got the memo. There were many more in attendance.
Don't know who brought these, but very appropriate on this day for Break-the-Fast.

Watching the YSAs Grow

We love working with the Young Single Adults. They are awesome. This is Tela and she is awesome. We love working with her and love watching her grow. This was taken at the San Diego Temple on Labor Day.
This is Tela two weeks later. They sure grow fast!

Another July Wedding

So a while back, two new Sister missionaries arrived in our home ward. The first one proudly introduced herself, "I'm Sister Fewkes, rhymes with pukes." I knew we had a winner. We fought the good fight together and she spent 7 months in our ward.
Fewkes got married in Bountiful and we told her how sad we were that we couldn't attend. Then we went anyway and surprised her. Yes, she was surprised.
And then we posed for our Bountiful Temple photo!

Great Labor Day

We rounded up some Young Single Adults for a trip to San Diego this morning. 12 joined us for baptisms. 220 ordinances performed. 7 of the 10 girls were converts of less than one year.
Here are Sarah and Tierney after their first temple experience. They are recent converts. How recent? They were confirmed members of the church 24 hours earlier. Does it get any better than this? I submit that it cannot.

Summer Reunion

If it's summertime, then it must be family reunion time. Here I am with the Florida Pattons in Utah.
Adrie and Jamel enjoying their day with Uncle John.
Never too old to pick each other's noses!!!

Wedding Time

Our dear friend, Dr. Allen Raines (Copenhagen Mission), did the honorable thing...and married a school teacher, the former Sara Chambers.
Robyn was in charge of the Candy Bar at the reception...
...and if Robyn's in charge, it looks perfect.
Even the Candy Bar was Robynized.

Disneyland

L is not for losers on this day! L is for Love!
Robyn finally met her alter-ego!
Aren't kids great? Here I am with Jennifer and the Wagner children (Michael, Melissa and Adam)
Some people get excited and scared on Space Mountain. Me? Not so much!

King of Pop

While Jennifer was here, we were able to honor the one-year anniversary of Michael Jackson's death. Here are the now-famous gates where the ambulance backed out with Michael on the way to UCLA.
Jennifer with Michael's star on Hollywood Boulevard.
Representing the homeland at Michael's boyhood home in Encino.

Updates

So many of you have been asking me to update my blog. Well, I will try. We flew Jennifer in for Ward Prayer. After all, it takes a special gift to make the fruit bouquet.
And to get the table ready for all the food.

Family Reunion

Ian is taking in the wisdom being shared.
Ian with his miniature grandma.
It's all about Family! Not everyone was there, but maybe next time. Two of the three surviving children made it.
Redheads aren't going anywhere. We rule the world. Deal with it.
The next generation.
It's not family without hugs. Ian is still learning the art!
